Overview

Protector’s Frost belongs to the Colossal Ancient Jewels, a special class of endgame rewards obtained by defeating the Colossal Ancients at the Colossal Summit. This pinnacle encounter is unlocked by collecting Colossal Ancient Statues from Terrorized Act Bosses, often supported by Worldstone Shards.

The exact jewel depends on the kill order. If Korlic the Protector is defeated last, the reward pool includes Protector’s Frost or Protector’s Stone.

These jewels function as enhanced versions of Rainbow Facets, combining elemental damage scaling with additional bonuses such as experience gain, magic find, and gold find. However, they are limited to one per character, making them a key endgame upgrade.

As part of the RotW Items, Protector’s Frost is a strong upgrade for cold-based builds.

Usage

This jewel is best socketed into high-value gear such as weapons, helmets, or shields to maximize cold damage output. It is especially effective for Blizzard Sorceress and other cold-focused builds that rely on high damage and resistance reduction.
